Cosmetic dentist Clint Newman of Nashville is a gold-level sponsor of the 2013 Interfaith Dental Clinic Annual Gala, taking place at 6 p.m. March 9, at the Loveless Barn, 8400 Highway 100, Nashville. The event, called “A Trip to the Orient,” will feature live music, a silent auction of packages including a Tuscany vacation for four and hot air balloon ride for two, cocktails, and Asian cuisine.

All ticket sales will support the IDC’s mission of providing comprehensive oral health care to uninsured, low-income working people and their families in the Middle Tennessee area. Last year, the IDC provided nearly $3 million in care over the course of 9,393 patient visits – a 21 percent increase over the previous year. Founded in 1994, the IDC depends on donations from companies, individuals, foundations, congregations and other organizations to fund their services.

Dr. Newman said: “I am always glad to contribute to the Interfaith Dental Clinic’s efforts to provide the hard-working people in our area with the dental care they need.”

Dr. Newman (http://clintnewmandds.com/) has practiced dentistry in Nashville since 2001. As a committed care provider for the underserved, Dr. Newman regularly sponsors and participates in the IDC’s annual galas. His other charitable contributions include participating in the WTVF News Channel 5’s Christmas Wish, in which he provided a smile makeover for a deserving Nashville patient unable to afford dental care. Dr. Newman also continues to provide dental care for young athletes through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Nashville Dental Society, Green Hills Study Group, Hillsboro Study Group, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. As a member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Newman has represented the New Dentists Committee of the Sixth District (Tennessee, Missouri, West Virginia and Kentucky).

The IDC began as a small two-chair practice at the West End United Methodist Church. In 1998, the IDC began operating in its own facility at 1721 Patterson Street. Another office was opened last year to serve patients working in Rutherford County. Both IDC clinics have ten operatories using the very latest in dental technology.
