Dr. Newman was born in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Newman received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1997, where he played men’s basketball from 1993 to 1997. During his time there, Dr. Newman became active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and remains active in the organization today.
In 2001, Dr. Newman earned his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.
